Affirmative agreement: এটি হচ্ছে কারো হ্যাঁ-সূচক বাক্যের সাথে মতৈক্য বা একমত প্রকাশ করা। বাক্যের প্রথম অংশ হ্যাঁ-সূচক হলে so, too, also ইত্যাদি ব্যবহৃত হবে। so Auxiliary verb এর পূর্বে এবং too, also Auxiliary verb এর পরে ব্যবহৃত হয়। অর্থাৎ নিম্নের নিয়ম দুইটি অনুসরণ করতে হবে।
Rule 01: Subject + positive verb +...+ and + so + auxiliary verb + Subject Example: She took pictures, and so did I. (সে ছবি তুললো, এবং আমিও তাই করলাম) Rule 02: Subject + positive verb +...+ and + Subject + auxiliary verb + too / also Example: She took pictures, and I did too / also. (সে ছবি তুললো, এবং আমিও তাই করলাম) |
N.B. auxiliary verb টি সর্বদাই প্রথম verb এর tense অনুসারে হবে।
Negative agreement: এটি হচ্ছে কারো না-সূচক বাক্যের সাথে মতৈক্য বা একমত প্রকাশ করা। প্রথম অংশ না-বোধক হলে neither, nor, either ইত্যাদি ব্যবহৃত হবে। neither, nor Auxiliary verb এর পূর্বে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং either, Auxiliary verb +not এর পরে ব্যবহৃত হয়। অর্থাৎ নিম্নের নিয়ম দুইটি অনুসরণ করতে হবে।
Rule 01: Subject + verb (negative) +...+ and + neither / nor + auxiliary verb + Subject Example: I did not know the answer, and neither/nor did he. (আমি প্রশ্নটির উত্তর জানতাম না, সেও না ) Rule 02: Subject + verb (negative) +... + and + subject + auxiliary verb +not + either Example: I did not know the answer, and he did not either. (আমি প্রশ্নটির উত্তর জানতাম না আর সেও না) |
N. B. auxiliary verb টি সর্বদাই প্রথম verb এর tense অনুসারে হবে।
তবে Negative agreement এর ক্ষেত্রে সংক্ষেপে informal হিসেবে Me neither, Me either ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে। আবার, একক বিবৃতিতে Affirmative এবং Negative agreement উভয় ক্ষেত্রেই vice versa ও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
e.g. He doesn't trust her, and vice versa (= she also doesn't trust him).
